10 Graduation Gifts That Aren't Completely Basic

Today we’re talking graduation gifts, because let’s be honest, we’ve all struggled purchasing a non-basic grad gift before! After an instagram question box and adding a few of my ideas I’ve put together a list of 10 gifts that aren’t overly gifted!

1. Umbrella

Seems simple, but most grads actually don’t already have them. Make sure to get a compact umbrella so that it fits in the water-bottle pocket of their backpack!

2. Outdoor Blanket

Blankets seem to be over-gifted, but outdoor blankets aren’t! An outdoor blanket could serve multiple purposes while keeping the soft blankets clean!

3. Cute Thank You/Greeting Cards & Paper Goods

Cards make a fun, useful gift for grads and likely not something they already have on hand. I’ve linked two of my favorite small businesses for cute paper goods! They both have really fun options for multiple occasions- including cards, stickers, and other products.

4. Cooler

Everyone has a use for a cooler every once in a while, and a good quality one would make a great grad gift!

5. Belt Bag

I know, these belt bags are all the rage right now and you’ll probably see them on other grad gift lists. Honestly, they seem super convenient and are unisex so a great gift for everyone!

6. Compact Wallet (for Girls)

I own one of these wallets from Athleta and seriously love it. It’s the perfect size for a couple cards, some cash, and I even keep an Airtag in mine!

7. Micro Wallet (for Guys)

I’ve heard nothing but great things about these slim micro wallets from my family and guy friends, and they would make a great grad gift. There’s many variations of these out there, but here’s an option that’s towards the middle of the price range and has good reviews.

8. Card/Board Games

There are so many options out there, but games are always a good idea and likely not something they will get multiples of.

9. Laundry Bag

For the college kids who are going to bring their laundry back to their moms on the weekend… or the students who don’t have room for a large hamper, or need an easy way to transport their laundry.

10. Flowers to Cultivate

This was one of the responses I was given on Instagram and I thought it was so unique and such a fun idea all at the same time! To gift it, find a cute pot and then a quote that has a good meaning or Bible verse to go with it!

I hope these give you a few new gift ideas for the people in your life who are graduating! To those of your graduating, CONGRATULATIONS, and best of luck with all of your future endeavors!
